Cormac Coyle, Chief Executive Officer
Commencing his career in nursing, Cormac has worked in Health and Social Care for thirty years, with over twenty-five years management and leadership experience in children and adult intellectual disability services and mental health services, across the island of Ireland. Prior to Trinity Support & Care Services, Cormac had responsibility as Group Director of Care & Support for a leading not-for-profit organisation. In 2017, Cormac was seconded to the Health Service Executive, as Interim CEO to lead an organisation which required significant improvements, and through his leadership and partnership working, achieved quality improvements, outcomes and compliance with regulators. A qualified social worker, he also holds a Leadership and Strategic Award for Social Work and a MSc in Health and Social Care Management. With a keen interest in research, he completed a PhD in Safeguarding, examining policy and practice developments in Northern Ireland’s adult safeguarding, and conducted a qualitative comparative study of adult safeguarding across the United Kingdom and Ireland. Cormac is also an executive committee member of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IASSIDD) Autism Spectrum Disorders Special Interest Research Group (SIRG).
